Safety & Precautions

Currently open for all services.

At Virginia Dental Solutions our top priority is the safety of our patients and our staff.

Please see below for a quick introduction to the steps we are taking to ensure that our office offers you the highest standard of safety and comfort.

  • If you or any persons in your household have traveled to a college or university and are now returning home, we ask that you wait 2 full weeks symptom-free before coming to our office.
  • If you have tested positive and/or live with someone who has tested positive, you must have TWO (2) negative COVID tests at least 72 hours apart before you will be seen.
  • All patients will have their temperature taken at entry.
  • Patients are also being asked to complete a short screening survey upon entry with some COVID related health questions.
  • We will continue to ask you if you are experiencing any symptoms of coronavirus, or if you have been exposed to people who have tested positive or have traveled to any of the areas considered to be hotspots for COVID-19.
  • We ask that all patients wear a mask or face covering to office appointments.
  • Safety is always our utmost concern and adequate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is being implemented for everyone’s wellbeing in the dental environment.
  • Physical Distancing. Our reception area has been reconfigured to allow social distancing. We have been modifying our schedule to minimize wait times in the reception area and the number of people in the office at any time. Patients who prefer to wait in their cars are welcome to do so. If you choose to wait in your car, please call us upon your arrival.
  • We request that extra people not accompany you to appointments. Parents accompanying children and caregivers for the elderly/impaired will be limited to one person per patient to minimize the number of office occupants. Any person accompanying patients into an operatory will be required to wear a mask.
  • Hand sanitizer will be available as you enter the office. We ask that patients use it upon entering.
  • Surface Cleaning. We have always had extremely high standards for disinfecting all surfaces in every operatory. In addition, we also continuously clean and sterilize the reception areas, doorways, and all portions of the office.
  • A barrier has been installed at the front desk and all staff will wear masks or face shields.
  • Magazines, brochures, and the water cooler have been removed from the waiting room and due to CDC recommendations; we no longer have a toy and video room available at this time for children.
  • Daily health checks for staff and doctors: Every staff member undergoes daily temperature checks to ensure your further safety.
  • All of our doctors and most of our staff started the COVID-19 vaccination in early January (Dr. Hartz and Maryam are pictured below getting their first dose).
